Marine Educative Area "Generation 8" : MTE intervention:
Marine Educative Area
On Tuesday, March 10, the Mission for Energy Transition (MTE) intervened in the CM2 class at the Institution François d’Assise–Nicolas Barré.
The presentation began with a review of concepts studied throughout the year, such as greenhouse gas emissions, global warming, and their consequences for biodiversity and human societies.
The MTE then outlined the concrete actions implemented by the Principality, particularly in sustainable mobility, waste recovery, and renewable energy development.
To conclude the session, the students estimated their carbon footprint using the “Calculette Junior,” an educational tool that helps them understand the impact of their daily habits and reflect on ways to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions.
The children were able to see that they have already adopted good habits to limit their environmental impact, while also realizing that many more actions are still possible to go even further in their commitment to addressing climate change.
Program supported by the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco and the Government of Monaco.
