Marine Educative Area "Generation 8" : Climate change introduction
Marine Educative Area
On Tuesday, November 11, the CM2 students from Institution François d’Assise – Nicolas Barré visited the AMPN facilities to gain a better understanding of climate change, the central theme of their school year.
The morning began with a short theoretical introduction, giving them the fundamental concepts needed for the activities that followed.
The students then carried out several experiments that allowed them to observe:
- The rise in temperatures caused by the greenhouse effect
- The increase in sea level linked to the melting of glaciers
- The impact of ocean acidification on shell-forming organisms
From these observations, they discussed the consequences of these phenomena for their AME, humanity, and biodiversity.
Fully engaged, the students began proposing solutions : soft mobility, waste reduction, renewable energy… all concrete actions that show their determination to make a difference for the planet.
Program supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Government of Monaco.
