Marine Educative Area "Generation 7" : Presentation of MPA management

Marine Educative Area

This morning, the AMPN intervened in the 7ème A class at Saint-Charles School to explain the role of a Marine Protected Area (MPA) manager.

This session aimed to introduce the MPAs of Monaco, their origins, regulations, species and habitats, as well as the scientific research and actions implemented to find a balance between biodiversity protection and the development of socio-economic activities.

This knowledge serves as a foundation for the students to manage the Marine Educative Area (MEA) they are responsible for in the 2024-2025 school year.

The students clearly understood the importance of these issues and made recommendations aimed at regulating rather than banning human activities to ensure the sustainable development of the MEA.

Congratulations to the students for their engagement, motivation, and very relevant remarks!

This program is supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Government of Monaco.
