Monacollecte 2026 : Caretakers of the sea

On March 6, the AMPN participated in the 2026 edition of Monacollecte.
This charitable event, organized by the Government of Monaco and the Monaco Sanitation Company (SMA), allows residents of the Principality each year to drop off items they wish to dispose of in a single location. These donations are then redistributed to various charitable organizations or directed toward appropriate recycling and treatment channels.
On this occasion, the AMPN hosted a stand dedicated to students. During a fun workshop, students stepped into the shoes of the “caretakers of the sea”. Using a papier-mâché dolphin and turtle, they learned how waste produced on land can end up in the ocean and threaten marine life.
Alternatives to the most impactful waste were also presented, such as reusable fabric bags instead of plastic bags and wooden tableware instead of single-use plastic products.
The students were fully engaged and demonstrated solid knowledge of waste sorting and management. Bravo to them!
