Monaco Explorations - BRUVS demonstration
Events
As part of the Monaco Explorations, AMPN and Thalassa Marine research & Environmental awareness presented BRUVS technology (Baited Remote Underwater Video Systems) in Volos, Greece, to academics and representatives of the N.E.C.C.A. (National Environment & Climate Change Agency).
After demonstrating how easy the cameras are to use and their value in complementing fish population monitoring, a full demonstration of the tool was carried out — from assembly and deployment in the water to viewing the captured footage — allowing the audience to concretely grasp the potential of this technology.
This presentation highlighted the benefits of BRUVS for enhancing fish population monitoring and paved the way for potential technology transfers and collaborations between partners.
As a reminder, the BRUVS program, implemented by AMPN andThalassa Marine research & Environmental awareness within Monaco’s Marine Protected Areas, is part of a partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Community Jameel, which actively supports projects in the fields of science, humanitarian work, and technology.
