Workshop: Build your artificial reef - Kids Club of the Méridien Beach Plaza

On July 23rd and August 5th, the Monegasque Association for the Protection of Nature had the pleasure of leading two enjoyable and educational workshops at the Kids Club ofLe Méridien Beach Plaza hotel, in collaboration with the team from Evenementia.
The aim: to introduce children aged 3 to 12 to the role of artificial reefs in protecting marine biodiversity.
First, the children were shown images of artificial reefs deployed by AMPN in the Marine Protected Area of Larvotto, just off the hotel’s beach. This helped them better understand their importance for marine biodiversity.
Then, using construction blocks, the young participants became marine architects, designing reef structures suited to different species:
- small and large shelters,
- tunnels for movement,
- shaded and sunny areas...
All the elements needed to create a complex artificial reef
It was a real pleasure to share these moments of curiosity, reflection, and creativity with the children. Their imagination knows no bounds!
