MPA presentation at École des Révoires in CM2 B and C class : Intervention n°2

Education and Awareness

Today, the 7ème B and C classes from the École des Révoires went to the Larvotto seaside complex. The students were welcomed by the AMPN team for the second of a series of three sessions on the theme of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).

After a brief general introduction, the students had the opportunity to explore the MPA more closely by walking along the promenade. This allowed them to observe terrestrial features such as shops, informational panels, and waste management systems, as well as marine installations such as buoys, artificial breakwaters, and geotubes.

For the next part of the session, the students were divided into several groups working on different aspects of MPA management, including the regulation of fishing and navigation, as well as the preservation of marine species and habitats. The workshop concluded with a debriefing during which each group explained to the others the key elements of the topic they studied.

A very effective way to raise students' awareness of the importance of Marine Protected Areas!
