Méridien Beach Plaza Kids Club

Education and Awareness

On July 29 and August 5, the Monegasque Association for the Protection of Nature led two workshops at the Kids Club of Le Méridien Beach Plaza, in collaboration with the Evenementia team.

The aim of these workshops was to introduce young participants to the remarkable biodiversity of the Larvotto Marine Protected Area (MPA), located just a few metres from the hotel.

Through a series of educational games, the children explored the different habitats within the MPA and discovered the many species that call it home.

They also learned how people can help enhance marine biodiversity through the deployment of artificial reefs.

First, the children discovered what artificial reefs are by looking at photographs taken in the MPA and reading an illustrated educational comic.

Then, using building blocks, they became true underwater architects, designing reefs tailored to the needs of different marine species. They created shelters of various sizes, passages to facilitate movement, and areas with different levels of light—essential features for building a complex artificial reef that supports thriving marine life.

This fun and interactive experience gave the children the opportunity to discover the fascinating underwater world located just a few steps from the Kids Club.

A big thank you to Le Méridien Beach Plaza for their warm welcome, and to Evenementia for this nice collaboration.
